Class Tier List — The Lost Front

Practical rankings for Assault, Medic, Marksman, Drone Operator, and Machine Gunner.

Class Tier List

This Class Tier List ranks The Lost Front roles by beginner practicality: how much value a typical player gets without hundreds of hours of FPV practice. High-skill ceilings still matter—we note them—but a class that only shines for experts sits lower for most squads. Pair this page with the Weapon Tier List and Best Loadouts when you kit out. Deep heal habits belong on the Medic Guide; XP shortcuts belong on Level Up Fast.

Ranking key (beginner practicality)

TierMeaning
SBest default impact for most teams
AStrong, flexible, easy to contribute
BStrong in the right map lanes
CHigh ceiling, skill-gated or niche

Unlock path reminder: Assault at start → Medic at level 5 → Marksman at level 10 → Drone Operator at level 16. Machine Gunner fills the sustained-fire / suppression niche with LMG primaries and unlocks later than the early ladder—community chatter often cites roughly levels 24–26, but you should verify the requirement in-client after every patch. Level faster with kills, objectives, and optional VIP XP boost—see Level Up Fast, Codes for why codes are not the path, and Getting Started for day-one flow.

S-tier — Medic (level 5)

Medic is the community S-pick for practical play. You keep the same assault-rifle comfort as Assault, but your support slot is bandages instead of only grenade pressure. In checkpoint fights, one heal turns a lost trench into a hold. Beginners feel useful immediately: stick near friendlies, heal after trades, then re-peek.

Why S: objective games reward survivors on point. A squad with even one Medic outlasts raw fraggers. Play tips: heal before you chase; do not stand in the open while bandaging; buy ammo and support restocks with match credits. Guns: AKS-74 while learning, then AKM or AS-VAL for CQB pushes—see the Weapon Tier List. Full bandage timing, restock habits, and Medic-specific kits are expanded on the Medic Guide.

A-tier — Assault (default)

Assault is unlocked from minute one and remains A-tier forever. Primary assault rifles, grenades in the support slot, and a flexible mid-range kit make it the best teacher of map routes, trench paths, and spawn timing.

Why A: zero unlock tax, clear role (push / clear / hold), and grenades that flush camping corners. Play tips: approach checkpoints through trenches and ruins; clear defenders before standing on the capture zone; use grenades on stacked doorways. When you hit level 5, swap to Medic for tough matches, then return to Assault when your team already has heals. Full kits: Best Loadouts.

B-tier — Marksman (level 10)

Marksman brings designated marksman rifles and grenades. You win by holding hills, grass lines, and long building sightlines while teammates push.

Why B for beginners: great when you already understand where enemies cross; weaker if you sit too far and never touch the objective. Head-glitch patience beats spray. Play tips: cover the lane your Assault/Medic is taking; reposition after two kills so drones and counters cannot pin you; use grenades when enemies stack a blind corner below you. Scoped DMR choices (including community-showcased SVD / SKS / VSS platforms) and attachments are covered on the Weapon Tier List, weapons guide, and Attachments Guide.

B / situational — Machine Gunner (unlock later — verify in-client)

Machine Gunner exists to suppress and hold. Mount RPK, PKM, or community-shown RPD volume of fire on trench bends, doorway stacks, and recapture lanes. You are less about flanking and more about denying space so Assault and Medic can stand on the capture zone without eating every peek.

Where it sits on this list: solid B / situational—not below Marksman for hold maps, not above Medic/Assault for general beginners. Suppression wins chokes; it does not replace heals or first-hour teaching. Place it thoughtfully: one MG anchoring a bend beats three MGs all fighting for the same doorway while the opposite flank collapses.

Unlock note: Machine Gunner comes later on the ladder than Medic / Marksman / Drone Operator. Community unlock chatter often lands around levels 24–26. That number is not a frozen official table on this wiki—open the class menu in-client after patches and after Lost Front Dev / Discord beta notes (see Updates). Until then, practice hold angles on Assault, borrow LMG shop time when available, and grind XP with Level Up Fast instead of waiting idle for the unlock rumor to resolve.

Why mid-board for new players: LMGs punish movement mistakes but punish your own reloads and mobility if you take open-field 1v1s. Fresh accounts should not skip Medic at 5 just to daydream about PKM. Play tips: pre-aim common peeks from the Map Guide; burst instead of endless mag dumps when ammo is tight; call for Medic rather than ego-challenging every angle; accept the slow reposition tax on PKM. Loadout examples (including RPD suppression kits) live under Best Loadouts.

C-tier — Drone Operator (level 16)

Drone Operator is the skill-gated specialist. Primary leans marksman-style, but secondary and support lock into the drone and controller. Perfect intel, harassment, and creative angles—if you can fly under fire.

Why C for beginner practicality: many players unlock it and feed because FPV control, battery timing, and when to abandon the drone are their own mini-game. Experts climb far above this letter; beginners often help the enemy more by being AFK in a camera. Play tips: practice in quieter servers or the related FPV drone practice experience linked from Discord & Community Links; spot for teammates instead of greed kills; swap back to Medic/Assault if your squad is losing the point fight. See Updates for drone controller support and attachment changes.

How to pick a class each match

  1. Losing the middle point repeatedly → Medic (read Medic Guide) or Assault with grenades.
  2. Enemy snipers owning grass → Marksman duel or Machine Gunner deny with sustained fire.
  3. Unknown enemy positions → one competent Drone Operator, not five.
  4. Need a cheap carry while leveling → Assault until 5, then Medic; use Level Up Fast to reach Marksman / Drone / Machine Gunner without wasted matches.
  5. Need a dedicated choke anchor and you are unlocked → Machine Gunner with RPK / PKM / RPD—still bring a Medic somewhere on the squad.

Team composition beats five of the same ego class. One Medic plus two Assault and a Marksman or MG is a sturdy default. Change class on respawn when the front shifts—The Lost Front lets you rethink loadout between lives.

Synergy with weapons and passes

Class tier is only half the story. AS-VAL Medic in buildings feels different from AKS Assault on open approaches; Machine Gunner RPD holds feel different from Marksman SVD overwatch. American Guns (399 Robux) adds M16A1 flavor; VIP (599) speeds the unlock ladder toward late classes; No Team Limit (199) is for stack play, not skill. Read Weapon Tier List, dress guns on Attachments, then lock a kit on Best Loadouts. Browse all systems from the Tier List Hub and Guides Hub.

Play fair. Type Productions permanently bans cheaters—see Scripts for why ESP and silent aim are not a shortcut. Climb ranks with aim, heals, and checkpoints instead.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for The Lost Front players.

What is the best class for absolute beginners?

Assault until level 5, then Medic. Both sit at the top of practical play on this Class Tier List. Expand heal habits on the Medic Guide.

When should I unlock Marksman vs rushing Drone Operator?

Marksman at 10 teaches lanes. Only main Drone Operator at 16 if you enjoy FPV—otherwise stay Medic/Assault. Compare guns on the Weapon Tier List.

Is Machine Gunner worth using?

Yes on choke holds and stacked doorways—suppression and hold value, not run-and-gun. Unlock is later (community chatter ~24–26; verify in-client). See Best Loadouts and Level Up Fast.

Can I change class mid-match?

Yes—pick a new unlocked class when you respawn. Adapt if your team lacks heals or lane control.

Where do I see weapon rankings for each class?

Open the Weapon Tier List and the weapons guide, then apply picks in Best Loadouts.
